Feature Article: by Lauren It started Friday night --April 20,2007 -- when I found out that John ("JEdwards") was going to the signing at Borders in Chicago to meet Méav, Chloe, and Mairead. I asked him if I were to write a letter, if he would kindly give it to Méav. He agreed to give it to her, and this is where I went into a complete state of panic! What to write! I mean Méav Ni Mhaolchatha, my Idol, would be reading a letter that I would write! That just kept flashing in my mind. After frantically asking everyone for advice on what to write, the popular response was, "Write from your heart," which is what I did. After double-checking to make sure everything was right, I sent the email to John so he could print it out and carry it with him to the signing. Even though I trusted John would give Méav my letter, I didn't think she would actually get it. I just couldn't picture her reading something I had written!
Sunday night, I checked my email and in it was a message from John about his experience. I tried to brace myself before opening the email, but nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to read and SEE! When I saw the picture of Méav with my letter, I fell to tears. It was the happiest moment ever! I was so overwhelmed with joy and excitement! I couldn't believe my eyes; Méav was sitting there, with a SMILE, holding MY letter! I was thrilled! It was a dream come true, really. As many times as I have watched both of the Celtic Woman DVD's, it is nothing like having a real connection with Méav. Even though I wasn't there physically, I felt as though with my letter I was there in spirit. Méav's music means so much to me because it is so inspiring and beautiful. Her music is like a glowing light inside of me, that shines through when I am listening to her. When I am not listening to one of her solo albums -- Méav, Celtic Journey, Silver Sea -- or an amazing solo of "Dulaman," that light isn't so bright. This is why something even as simple as a letter, means so much to me.
Thank You Méav! |
